Ntxhais Hmoob Legacy is an informal collection database: short descriptions of the many leading Hmong women in the United States and internationally – detailing their education backgrounds and professional fields.
Ntxhais Hmoob Legacy sprout from Suzie Maiv Ntxhais Vaj, a former contestant in the 2008-09 Miss Hmong California Pageant held at Sacramento Hmong New Year. Her platform titled: “Lub Peev Xwm thiab Lub Zog Ntawm Ib Tug Ntxhais Hmoob” or “The Strength and Capability of a Hmong Woman” was to demystify the submissive role of Hmong woman and promote gender equality support from the community. Her personal vision is to empower and shed more light on the voices of Hmong women fruition into a project of bio collection of fearless Hmong women. Her project began as a simple myspace profile page that feature a small bio collection. Since then the project has expand into a platform on social media with the aims to be a resource that help Hmong girl or Hmong women (peb cov ntxhais Hmoob) develop the tools and skills to accomplish their dreams.
